In class this week we tap into where we are right now, so we can better plan for the future. On the mat this means becoming aware of your strengths but also your limitations; for it's in our limitations that we so easily experience growth.
In our physical practice, it's easy to see that growth when we our hips begin to open or our hands finally touch our feet. But that growth also exists in the more subtle realms. It's in the way we begin to master our breath; or how we deal with challenging situations off the mat. You may even notice the subtle shift from the material to the ethereal.
Self-awareness is a powerful tool for personal growth because it helps us tap into where we are in every moment, whether that's holding still in downward dog or channeling our breath in our meditations.
If you'd like to join in this week's practice, I've shared it below. I encourage you to be self-aware in each posture, but also in how you transition from one asana to the next. Notice your strengths, your limitations and the next time you practice (or the time after that) be aware of how you experience it differently. Be aware of your growth.
Enjoy...
